Yumi NAKATA / 中田有美

Born in 1984, living in Nara prefecture. Graduated of Oil Painting course in Kyoto City University of Arts, octoral course, 2016. Since then, she has attempted to make alternative interpretations of classical style paintings, such as self-portrait, landscape paintings, still life paintings, etc. and created unbalanced oil paintings. She also produces “Background on Background” series that put oil paintings on huge inkjet prints and present them without separation. Encouragement Award, 2007 Kyoto City University of the Arts Work Exhibition. Umehara Award, Ph.D thesis in 2016: “The Impossible self-portrait: A method for seeing invisible self and invisibility world “　Kyoto City University of Arts.
